Ukulele Basics for Kids, Ages 6+

Ukulele Basics for Kids, Ages 6+ In-Person

Introducing “Ukulele Basics” led by Ginger Kokoszka, the program is designed for young persons aged six and up

If you already own a ukulele and want to join the program, be sure to specify in the signup.

Ginger Kokoszka enjoys bringing authentic musical experiences to budding musicians through family participation and child-friendly instruments.  As an accomplished teaching / performing artist and a board-certified music therapist with graduate degrees from Yale and Drexel University, Ginger performs frequently with the Westchester Band in Scarsdale, NY in summers. Inspired by her child's free spirits, Ginger trained with the Dalcroze and Music Together and developed her unique music instruction approach in ukulele and recorder designed for school age children and beginners. Ginger combines formal and informal teaching philosophy to instruct her students according to their learning styles and aptitude. With a solid background in classical music and theory, Ginger makes relatable connections to everyday life. In addition to instructing piano, French horn and serving the clinical population in music therapy, Ginger is a firm believer that music exists in each person. The act of music learning and making is gratifying and self actualizing. Ginger wants to impress the invaluable process of learning new skills and the benefit of making music  over fears about music performance. She’s planning to host informal ukulele jamming sessions to include voices, keyboards, and recorders.
