In Person - How To Use Artificial Intelligence

In Person - How To Use Artificial Intelligence In-Person

Join technology researcher Jake Adler for an in-person lecture and demonstration on how to use ChatGPT, Google Bard, Elicit, DALL-E, and other generative AI programs. Discover the differences and nuances between various programs, how to use and modify inputs for the best results, and how you can use AI in your own life, work and leisure. In this program we will cover:

-Comparison of extant generative systems and their usages (ChatGPT, Bard, Elicit, DALL-E, et al.)

-Discussion of advantages (speed, "conversational" usage, critical thinking enhancement) and caveats (prone to misinformation, unreliability, limited linguistic capabilities) of generative system usage

-Live demonstration of generative system usage (including audience participation)

Jacob Adler is the Metadata and Cataloging Librarian at the Bronx Community College Library. He is a member of the BCC working group investigating the use and potentiality of generative systems such as ChatGPT and Bard, and is the author of a subject guide on Generative Systems accessible via the BCC Library website. He has presented at the annual City Tech Science-Fiction Symposium and possesses a Master's Degree in Museum Studies from the CUNY School of Professional Studies.
