Villiage Trustee Renée Howell will be giving a COVID-19 testing information session.

She will discuss:

• What is the SARS CoV2  Virus?
• How does it cause Covid19 infection?
• What are the different tests available for this virus?
• How much do they cost?
• Why has it been so difficult to get access to testing?

Dr. Renée Howell is currently Sr. Director of Clinical Affairs with Siemens Healthineers where she leads the clinical studies unit for the company’s Immunoassay group. Renee has over 20 years experience in industry and has held positions of increasing responsibility at Canon Biomedical, Qiagen, Digene, and SeraCare. Dr, Howell completed doctoral studies at Rutgers University, New Jersey studying in vivo genetic variation of HIV-1 and postdoctoral studies at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda Maryland which focused on DNA structure and its effect on gene expression. She is currently the Chairperson for the Industry Division of American Association of Clinical Chemistry, serves as the Siemens representative to the Joint Committee for Traceability in Laboratory Medicine and is an advisor on the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) Expert Panel on Molecular Methods. She has authored or co-authored dozens of papers and professional abstracts and holds several US patents.
