Last year, Martin delivered an amazing presentation about The Bronx for us. We learned so much and had a lot of fun. This year we are inviting him back to talk about the "West Side Stories". 

Explore the rich architecture and history of the area surrounding Columbus Circle. Visit the site of the first Jewish congregation in North America. Learn about the origins of Art Deco. Marty will reveal local secrets, stories, and scandals that will make your jaws drop in amazement. He will discuss sites associated with Mae West, Joe DiMaggio, Marilyn Monroe, Rudolph Valentino, Charlie Chaplin and James Dean. Marty will point out the school where Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the Atomic Bomb, attended, and sites where two classic movies were filmed.

Martin Schneit grew up in The Bronx. He is an acclaimed lecturer by many institutes around NYC. Join Marty as he takes you back to a simpler time and talks about how growing up in The Bronx shaped his life. Some of the topics that Marty discusses in his lecture include: Marty (film), Egg Cream, Stickball, Dion and The Belmonts, Grand Concourse, Paradise Theater, Jahn’s, Orchard Beach, Charlotte Russe, The Seltzer Man and Krums. He typifies pride and passion for the city of New York.
