Virtual Book Discussion: White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo In-Person
Join host Omayra Andino, Trustee of Tuckahoe Village, and Co-facilitators Dr. Michael Gerald and Dr. Sherry Fraser for a virtual book discusion of the New York Times Bestseller, White Fragility: Why It's so Hard for White People to Talk About Racism by Robin Di Angelo. The book discussion will be held on four consecutive Thursdays, August 13-September 3, from 7-8:30 pm. Dr. Michael Gerald is a graduate of Trenton State College and Princeton Theological Seminary respectively. Dr. Gerald has a Doctorate Degree from Eastern University’s Palmer Theological Seminary in the area of Psychology of Leadership Renewal. Dr. Gerald formerly served as an Law Enforcement Executive and is now the Senior Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Tuckahoe,New York, where he resides with his family.
Dr. Sherry Fraser is the Provost Emerita and Professor of Social Work at Concordia College in Bronxville where she has served for 36 years and just retired in June. After graduating from college in 1977, Sherry accepted a social work position at Gary Neighborhood Services in Gary, Indiana. Dr. Fraser notes that her experiences in Gary provided the most meaningful education she has received. Dr.Fraser’s three children attended Tuckahoe Schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade, graduating from Tuckahoe High School in 1999, 2001 and 2003.
