Cooking Lesson with Omayra Andino - "Pastelillos (Puertorican Turnovers)" In-Person

Options of Meat / Vegetarian

List of ingredients: 

  • TBS olive oil 
  • 1 lb ground beef (or any protein such as ground chicken or turkey, white fish like salted codfish, tofu  or veggies)
  • Tomato sauce or paste  
  • Cumin
  • Ground oregano
  • Salt or adobo 
  • *5 TBS sofrito
  • Dough discs for empanadas (thawed and at room temperature)
  • Pitted salad olives

  • Shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)

*Sofrito
  • 2 Bell peppers (green and red)
  • 1 Garlic heads
  • 1 Yellow onion
  • Bunch cilantro
Note: Blend or put in food processor and pulse until ingredients are broke down, but not watery.
