Jonathan Kruk - The Headless Horseman of White Plains, A Revolutionary Origin Story, All ages 10+ In-Person

Washington Irving hints the Battle of White Plains launched "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."  Get the full story of the galloping goblin's start on Halloween 1776!  Performing in period dress, Master Storyteller Jonathan Kruk shares how a Yankee cannonball perhaps fired by a unit commanded by a future founding father took away the head of a Hessian trooper.

This program is made possible through Revolutionary Westchester 250, Westchester County, and the Westchester Library System. It is designed to build awareness and appreciation for the Revolutionary War era in Westchester, in anticipation of the nation’s 250th anniversary of the American Revolution in 2026.
